polanski and the letter man (contd)

Filed under: Uncategorized — steve @ 10:07 am

Letterman’s another matter for two reasons. One the public hasn’t had time to form an opinion and since he’s on five nights a week their final decision make take weeks if not months to form. I’ve never liked Letterman much as a person. His arrogance rivals Carson’s and for years he was always late night’s numero uno homophobe. And his interviews with people of a darker hue always made me squirm. He might have been talking to Martians. And I never thought he was half as bright as he obviously thinks he is. That said he’s the most gifted all of late night hosts, to me much better than even Carson ever was. He can be brilliant. And he’s turned into an excellent interviewer, comfortable, informed, almost never stepping on the interviewee’s moment. His recent interest in political has made him water-cooler fodder again.

I can’t seem him losing much of his audience. NBC managed a two-fer when they went with Leno in prime. They killed Leno and they killed Conan behind him. I’ve seen Leno three times and I feel sorry for him. He’s on the Titanic of gigs with a very bad show and stupid time slot.

polanski and the letter man

Filed under: Uncategorized — steve @ 10:04 am

Polanski seems to be fighting Letterman for newspaper space this morning.

We know everything about the Polanski story but not very much about the Letterman. I have a feeling much more is to come. I also have a feeling that somewhere there’s one of Letterman’s old lovers who’s been contacted by a lawyer (or who has contacted a lawyer) and is thinking of both payback and payday. I wouldn’t be surprised (seriously) if she’s already called Gloria Allred.

Then there’s the question of the public’s response. I haven’t seen any general polls of Americans about Polanski but I think he was ill-served by Debra Winger calling those who thinks he should be jailed “philistines.” He may even be ill-served by having so many Hwood people come out for him.

Whiteout(09)

Filed under: Uncategorized — steve @ 10:15 am

For the first time in a long time I actually went to a theater to watch a movie (I usually rent). I watched Whiteout the past week. I know, I know…I’m a movie geek, I’ve done my research, of course I knew it wasn’t really a good movie coming into it. And believe it or not my other choice was District 9. But District 9 was down to one theater and one timing, by the time the movie ends it would be close to midnight. The theater it was showing at was also quite a distance from my home and seeing that I had work the next day, I picked Whiteout which was showing at a closer theater. Don’t get me wrong though, I was still looking forward Whiteout. It is based on a graphic novel I had read and rather like, so I’m always interested how the adaptation would turn out. I was also in the mood for some action thrillers with cool action sequences and great sound effect, some of the stuff I had missed not seeing movies in the theaters.

Lady GaGa solo tour

Filed under: Uncategorized — steve @ 10:09 am
Lady GaGa is pressing ahead with plans for a solo tour — just days after scrapping her joint jaunt with rapper Kanye West.

“Still leaving on solo TOUR this nov,” the Poker Face singer, who will play a series of North American dates in November, wrote on her Twitter account. “Announcing next week.”

GaGa told Billboard magazine that the decision to cancel the Fame Kills tour was mutual. “Kanye’s going to take some time off.,” she said. “But the good news is that I’m going on tour in a few weeks.”

Recent reports have claimed the duo canceled the much-hyped tour because ticket sales “sucked” and there was lots of bickering behind the scenes.

The tour — which was to run from November 10, 2009 until January 24, 2010 — was canned Thursday by concert promoters Live Nation.

No official reason was given, but the company said refunds are available at the point of purchase. Tickets purchased online and via phone will be refunded automatically, Live Nation said.

Find best hotels with Twitter

Filed under: Uncategorized — steve @ 4:18 am

Are you familiar with the popular Twitter? As for myself, I am a huge addict of this Twitter. I use TwitterFox on my Pc and Tiny Twitter on my BlackBerry Pearl. Lately I found another great feature of Twitter – performing normal searches. Guess what? Now I can use the twitter to look for my favorite hotels online. I can easily find a list of hotels providers by searching the keyword ‘hotel’. In the list I find filtering out some really good ones such as laterooms.com. It is very quick and convenient to compare hotels with Twitter. I can read customers reviews on the hotel within clicks. And I can also directly talk with other people with Twitter. Usually I get tons of useful advices from my friends on Twitter and it works.

Now you can advertise on your vehicle too

Filed under: Uncategorized — steve @ 4:12 am

Friends, here is a new way to earn money. This is rather exciting too. For the qualification all you need to have is a vehicle of your own. Sounds intriguing isn’t it? Well, i read about this Streetvertisement which  is simply a way for Drivers and Advertisers to connect. Advertisers can advertise on your vehicles if you register your vehicle here and you get monthly payments for the advertisements. You can simply put your vehicle to be listed on their new site and potential advertisers may call you for an advertisement on your vehicle for cash. Right now it is a good time to use it as the service is completely free. You can simply put your vehicle to be listed on the new site and potential advertisers will call you put an advertisement on your vehicle for cash. Right now is a good time to use it as the service is completely free. So, hurry up!!!

The beauty is that owning a car now could  become very cheap  with the payment you receive for ads on your car. This motto- Lower my car payment with a Streetvertisement, works and will really help especially if you have car finance to pay on a monthly basis or other arrangements to pay for you car.

It is a great chance for the advertisers too. Street advertising is rather a brilliant idea I can say. You gain more exposures this way and this can be very different. I think you should hurry up now!!!

Michael Jackson Funeral Set

Filed under: Uncategorized — steve @ 3:57 am

Assuming the plans don’t change again, Michael Jackson’s private family memorial service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Forest Lawn in L.A.Immediately after, a motorcade will then go to the Staples Center complex in downtown Los Angeles where the public memorial for him will be held. The family still hasn’t decided whether the public memorial service for Michael Jackson will be at the Staples Center or the smaller Nokia Theatre.

A decision on that is expected shortly. There has also been no decision yet on the allocation of tickets to the service, which should be in high demand. As we reported earlier, the original venue, Neverland, was scratched. Lots of crazy rumors are going around regarding Michael Jackson’s funeral, and the family itself has issued contradictory statements, but we believe this to be the plan, based on the latest reports. More details to come soon, hopefully.
