How often have you heard of this, especially on blogs, only to see that the “real soon” becomes “really, really later”. I was reminded of this from a post on one of my feeds, where a blogpost went “dont give up on this blog yet, we’re gonna re-ingnite soon” somewhere last August. And the next post? This Jan, well into it, in fact.
Not that I’m not guilty of it either. There have been times when I’ve seen the blog and gone “Oh Shit! I need to update it. But what do I write?” (What do I write, indeed!) and then said “I’ll be back soon”. Case in point? WP blog of the same name(link), where I cant blog, cos access to WP is severly limited, and it doesnt have email blogging enabled (very, very silly thing, in my opinion). Blogger does. Voila! I’m posting more and more on here! 
That digression aside, what do you do when you’re thinking of posting “I’ll be back soon”? Dont post it. Post something interesting. Even if just a link to a newspaper.
